Post Graduate Courses

Continuing Professional Development for Existing Yoga Teachers.

Who are these courses suitable for?

  • Yoga teachers who have completed previous teacher training.
  • Yoga teachers wanting to grow as an individual and as a teacher.

Our Approach

Each course will provide a certain number of CPD points (Continuing Professional Development) as required by Yoga Australia.

Quality teachers take time and continual learning to emerge; personal practice, experience teaching others, mentoring, feedback and practical opportunities to develop your yogic skills, are just as important as learning the alignment cues for Virabhadrasana.

At Living Peace, our post graduate teacher training programs are balanced between theory, philosophy, practical application, one-on-one mentoring and time.

The knowledge you gained in your previous trainings will begin to integrate into wisdom as you dive deeper into more techniques, practice and philosophy of yoga. Through practical guidance and skill development, you can continue to grow into the confident and authentic teacher you always dreamed of.

Restorative Yoga

Teaching the Art of Rest

Date: 23rd and 24th October, 2021
Time: 11am – 5pm Sat, 9am – 3pm Sun
Price: $220
CPD Points: 12

Restorative yoga is a slow and mindful practice, which usually involves the use of props such as bolsters, blocks, blankets, straps and walls, to aid the student in holding a pose for an extended period of time. Using props allows the student to feel “supported” and “safe”, and therefore, the unconscious and habitual muscle tension has a chance to be dissolved and released. This practice leads the yogi towards a more healing and recuperative experience, achieving a deep level of relaxation in body, breath and mind.

This workshop will include:

  • Benefits of Restorative yoga
  • Why do we need to relax? Truly experience relaxation in your body.
  • How and when to safely use props in a yoga class
  • Learn a variety of yoga poses using props, from simple and gentle movements, to deeper postures such as forward bends and back bends.
  • How to teach restorative yoga.
  • Difference between stretching and release.
  • Comprehensive take home notes.

Weaving Yogic Philosophy into Class

Date: TBA
Time: 11am – 5pm
Price: $216
CPD Points: 12

Enriching a yoga asana class by weaving philosophy and symbology can be stimulating and educative for both the teacher and the student. It also exposes the students to the incredible depth and breadth of yoga and reminds them that yoga is so much more than just asana. The first two limbs of Ashtanga Yoga, the Yamas and Niyamas, supply us with the ethical guidelines of a yogi who is living a yogic life, a life filled with integrity, honesty, consideration and kindness for all beings. These are perfect to weave throughout a class as most of these can be related to asana and how to use the concept in the real world.
This workshop will include:
  • Refresher on the Yamas and Niyamas and learning the Sanskrit
  • Creating a personal experience of the philosophical concept to help explain it to students
  • How the yama/niyama can relate to the asana practice
  • Structuring a class with asana, pranayama and meditation related to the philosophy
  • Comprehensive take home notes

Practical techniques and deep introspection will reveal what is binding us in the habitual tendencies of this life, keeping us knee deep in the quagmire of incarnation. Strategies and actions based on the ancient spiritual texts will be the launch pad for our awakening to the true self.

This course will help you find that balance between pushing your body too hard and not going far enough. It will refine your teaching skills, increase your confidence and give you more cues to assist your students.

This workshop will include:

  • Daily morning yoga practice
  • Learning and feeling the major bones and muscles used in yoga asanas
  • Discovering what is happening to our muscles when we stretch or activate them
  • Anatomy of the breath and pranayama
