Exert from the book

“Picture yourself heading home from your evening yoga or meditation class, stretched and supple, calm and centred, a delightful finish to your day. However, when you arrive home a sense of unease comes over you. As you unlock your front door, fear hangs in the air, a stench you have never before experienced. You open the door and see that you have been the victim of a home invasion. Books are strewn from one end to the other, lounges scattered, cupboards opened, the TV blaring and your ipod playing.

You stop and take a deep breath. Aware that the perpetrator is gone, you take stock. Nothing seems to be missing, but your mind starts down another track…Who would do this? Can I ever get it back to the way it was? What did I do to deserve this?

Then you remember the security surveillance system you installed last year. You will get to the bottom of this. You rush into the safe room to replay the recording. You rewind (insert appropriate rewinding sound) and press play. The perpetrator’s back is to you, however they look very familiar. As they turn the vision becomes clear – low and behold it’s you!

Inside your own house tearing the place up! Looking at the monitor you ask yourself, why would anyone vandalise their own house?”

This anecdote from Omservations illustrates how we can be our own worst enemy, and how we can find peace. If you’re stressed and overwhelmed with daily life and want to find peace, this book is for you.

The culmination of years of spiritual searching, learning, practice and teaching, Omservations is a bit like a Ph.D in the search for the divine in everyday life. Taking readers through a collection of observations, tales and practices, each of which contains lessons and insights into how to unleash the peace within, Omservations contains a mix of Western and Eastern philosophy and terminology.
