SUMMARY:The Embodied Breath Immersion with Paul Wooden
DESCRIPTION:Explorations of the inner architecture of energy in yoga practice.\n\nJoin special guest teacher (and Ginny’s teacher) Paul Wooden for the embodied breath workshop which is an intimate exploration of the whole field of yoga practice where we learn to harness the subtle energetic dynamics of our body\, our feeling\, our mind and beyond.\n\nWe access prana\, or our subtle life energy\, by feeling it. Pranayama and breath work helps us expand and refine our capacity for feeling. It helps bring a more responsive intelligence to feeling and this felt response intelligence is precisely what guide us in practice. This is where our practice becomes truly our own. A more intimate relationship to the breath and subtle energy can help bring more clarity to the deeper dimensions of practice.\n\nYou can expect a physically gentle yet internally nourishing weekend as we explore through both theory and practice\, the intimate fields of energy in yoga practice.\n\nSome of the themes we will cover are:\n* Prana as essential nourishment\n* Safety and belonging\n* The role of gravity in breathing\n* Trauma and the breath\n* Befriending and refining feeling\n* Boundaries\, containment and openness\n* Understanding the interplay of energy and mind\n* Trusting the natural intelligence of life.\n\nSATURDAY\n9:30am – 12pm\nGROUNDING: Embodied movement and energetic grounding\n1:30pm – 4pm\nBREATHING: Preparing for the subtle fields\n\nSUNDAY\n9:30am – 12pm\nBANDHAS: Habitual and natural boundaries\n1:30pm – 4pm\nENERGY AND MIND: Meditation and the intimate road home.\n\nPRICE\nFull weekend: $285\n1-Day only: $145\n\nFacilitator: Paul Wooden has been studying and teaching yoga for 40 years with a keen interest in the deeper dimensions of practice and how transformation actually happens. he was found and director of Gertrude Street Yoga studio in Melbourne for many years\, before moving to the Philippines to open Wild Dharma Eco Retreat\, a centre for spiritual practice. he continues to study the wisdom traditions and the in-exhaustable revelations of yoga.\n\n\n  \nBuy Now \n\n

SUMMARY:Yoga for Self-Care
DESCRIPTION:Self-care is defined by the term itself – caring for yourself. It can take many forms but essentially includes all you do to stay healthy from a physical\, mental and spiritual perspective. Often self-care is sacrificed when life becomes busy and stressful as it can seem indulgent. Caring for yourself is not self-indulgent\, it is self-preservation. \nHere’s why you should care about self-care: it’s GOOD for you\, especially in managing stress. Chronic stress is fast becoming one of the biggest threats to our overall health and self-care strategies\, particularly exercise and meditation can help curb this. The point is to have a long-term perspective”- Dalai Lama \nDate: Saturday 22 January\, 2022\nTime: 11am – 2pm\nPrice: $65-\nBookings essential.\nNo yoga experience is required to benefit from this event \nFacilitator: Angelique Pratten is a devoted yoga teacher and yoga therapist with an insatiable desire to learn\, grow and empower herself and others through meditation\, self-awareness and yogic practices. Yoga teaches us the means to access these resources and engage them at the times when we need them most. It is a united event where the leaders of the chant and the participants merge as one. It really doesn’t matter if you can sing or not…the sound comes from the heart\, not the vocal chords! \n\n\nDate: Sunday 24th January 2021\nTime: 2:30 – 5:30pm\nAddress: Living Peace Yoga\, 2/20 The Boulevarde\, Toronto\nPrice: $45 LIMITED TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE. SUMMARY:Sunday Satsang with Greg and Ginny
DESCRIPTION:A “Satsang” is Sanskrit term meaning “being in the company of the truth” and refers to a group of like-minded people who engage in a spiritual dialogue. The root words\, sat and sanga\, mean “truth” and “community” respectively; therefore\, satsang may also be thought of as relationship with the truth itself. \nGreg and Ginny Clarke will lead spiritual and devotional activities such as yogic meditation\, concentration\, devotional singing (kirtan)\, breathing/pranayama and contemplation. There will also be time for Q&A where you can ask any spiritual questions or concerns that may arise. \nSatsang is an aid on the yogic path to moksha (liberation from the cycle of death and rebirth). It helps remove negative thoughts\, earthly attachments and mental obstacles that block the path. Satsang keeps people engaged in spiritually-centred thoughts and focused on their paths. It helps to integrate our spiritual wisdom into daily lives\, remembering that these two threads are intimately connected anyway. \nDate: Sunday 24th November \nTime: 9:30am – 11am \nPrice: BY DONATION at the door \n

SUMMARY:Mindful Creativity
DESCRIPTION:Mindful Creativity – Art and Connection\n\nDate: Saturday 2nd November\nTime: 3pm – 5:30pm\nPrice: $54\n\n\n\nArt\, like meditation\, allows us to create space between our sometimes negative\, anxious thoughts and connect with our true selves. Art can help us access a deeper and more quiet part of ourselves; help us enter into a state of flow and present moment awareness; dive deeply into a cocoon of concentration. \n“All true artists\, whether they know it or not\, create from a place of no-mind\, from inner stillness”. Eckhart Tolle \nThis workshop places the inner state of the yogi / artist as the main focus\, witnessing the creative process as it takes place – the creator is both an artist and a witness. Begin to connect with your inherent creativity\, letting go of expectation\, judgement and unhelpful conditioning. \nCreate sculptural forms using a combination of found objects and art materials using simple weaving and binding techniques. You will be guided through the processes of creating and assembling sculpture/collage. We will collect natural materials from the lake foreshore (practising the principles of Shinrin Yoku); you are also most welcome to bring materials from your own collections (string\, beads\, feathers\, stone\, seed pods\, fabrics etc). \n“Before the thought that you aren’t creative arises\, vanquish it from the mind. Before the thought that you are creative but are in a slump arises\, vanquish it. Yes you/we\, may not be Picasso or Beethoven\, but creativity is not limited to the way society or we have pigeon-holed it. Creating a clean mind\, a clean house\, creating an environment in which someone can be themselves around you are all artworks. Every time we co-create with the divine it is art and beauty. Creativity means taking what our dharma is\, and the skills we are endowed with\, and acting.” Hanuman Das \nThis workshop includes: \n* Mindfulness and Polarity Meditations to get you in the mood to create\n* Pranayama techniques to quiet the mind so creativity can flow\n* Shinrin Yoku (Japanese Forest Bathing)\n* Assemblage\, collage and sculpture techniques \n  \nFacilitator: Vicki Laverick (Gitaji) is a 2016 graduate of the Living Peace Yoga Teacher Training\, Gitaji is a registered Level 1 Yoga teacher\, whose path to Yoga began with meditation over 10 years ago. Her focus is living a peaceful\, easeful and useful yogic lifestyle using the practices and techniques of meditation\, mindfulness and pranayama. During the past 5 years\, Gitaji has been studying yogic philosophy and practices at LPY’s Mind Body Energy clinic with Hanuman Das\, developing the skills and nurturing the joy to teach\, lead and share meditation. \nGitaji’s art practice: “I relish the challenge of taking disparate objects and combining them harmoniously or sharply. My sculptures are mostly created from everyday materials both natural and man-made. I love the feel of working with wood\, metal\, stone\, paper and wire.\nAnd I enjoy the meditative space I’m in when creating\, collecting\, playing\, combining. As a creator\, I am both an artist and witness\, attentively observing the process as it unfolds.” \n\n\n\nBuy Now \n
